Our services also include Pedestal Pod System Waterproofing . These systems are also known as Floating Tiles and Pedestal Tiling.
A customer contacted us as they had water entering through the floor of their apartment. The customer had a leak detection test conducted, confirming that the Pedestal Pod System Waterproofing had aged and failed. This therefore required the renewal of the waterproofing membrane.
Sounds easy right? In some respects it is however this does entail quite a bit of preperation work not to mention the lifing, removal and reinstallation of the pavers and pods back in place.
We have found that with most of these type of jobs, after the removal of all the pavers and pods there is some other work work needed. We tend to find gaps around the balcony perimeter which are a treat for water to find it’s way into and likely to contribute to the water ingress.
All gaps require to be sealed, waterproofed and bandaged up before applying the new waterproofing membrane. Obviously we also need to remove all the old waterproofing membrane to ensure 100% adherence of the new membrane water. So off to work we go!
If you have a Pedestal Pod System and require the substrate re-waterproofed contact us here at Balcony Shower Repairs for a no obligation free quote.
