Customer contacted us to have his Balcony Leak Repaired. Customer noticed mould forming in grout lines and around tile edges which would return after a few months after waterblasting them clean. There was as superficial water damage to balcony underside.
This balcony leak issue was caught early so luckily there wasn’t any water damage to the balcony structual support. To address the water leak this job required removal of the old cement based grout and replaced with Epoxy Grout and we resiliconed around the skirting.
We cleaned and removed the mould that had embedded itself in to the stone tiles and applied penetrating stone sealer to revive the tired looking tiles to enhance the color and provide additional waterproofing protection to the stone tiles.
If you have stone tiles outdoors it’s important to have them sealed as this will stop water penetrating through the stone and affecting the adhesives intergirty. This is also often the reason why you may have drummy sounding tiles as you walk over them and these need to be refixed before they crack. Sealing Stone tiles is even more important if it is on a balcony as this can over time cause water leaking problems.
